I loved thinking about the theme of Blue. Some guest presenters at work talking about meditating on icons and the Easter break caused me to consider the sadness of Mary the bereaved mother and the difficulties she faced in her life. I liked the idea of the golden halo as a reference to the traditional icons. I loved escaping as I stood in my kitchen with my easel, canvas and paints.
